Buryat singers in traditional costumes performing for tourists in city of Ulan Ude (Pop. 600,000) in south-central Siberia. Buryats are decended from the Mongols of centuries ago and are largely Buddhists. Buddhism survived intact during the Soviet anti-religion times.
