Male lion, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Lord and master of his pride, this lion is in his prime - about 6 - 7 years old. Prides consist of females and cubs numbering up to 20 or more. Males leave the pride at about three years of age. Prime males may fight to take over a pride.
